It's about time that you learn HTML5 and CSS3! But why?

BY MARKUS SPRUNCK

Each developer, software engineer and architect would be well advised to observe the job market to learn more about trends and up-coming technologies.

It is not important that you share my personal opinion about HTML5 & CSS3: "Most of the mobile apps don't need native apps. They are cool, but to expensive to develop, test and maintain. Web applications are from the economic point of view in a lot of cases more reasonable."

Data from Job Markets

The following graphic depicts key words used in job postings. The platform Indeed.com provides the possibility to analyse trends in IT.

The job trend makes clear that HTML5 and CSS3 will be very important in the next time. This gets even more evident, if we look at Figure 2 where the growth is depicted.

Recommendation

  • Observe the job market to learn more about trends and up-coming technologies. The day when you need a new job is maybe to late to start with new technologies.
